..wish you were here.November 9, 2007 was a day of firsts. First time we celebrated Dad's birthday without him. First time there wasn't a surprise party in church. Most of all, it was Dad's first birthday in heaven. I wonder if there was a grand celebration there, too?
As for us, we had our own little celebration at TongYang, one of Daddy's favorite restaurants (and guilt trips). And in remembrance of Dad, we ate everything we wouldn't have eaten if he was still around, hehe. Cholesterol fest, woohoo. If my calculations served me right, we all managed to take one-year off our supposed life-span with all the fats we intoxicated ourselves with that night. :)
And we could almost hear Daddy saying,
"Eks. Talagang kung kelan pa ko wala tsaka kayo ngcelebrate ng ganyan noh?"Sigh. He would have been 58 years old. His smile would have looked perfect in these pictures if he was still around. We missed him that night. (We miss him everyday.) But one thing for sure, he's happy where he is now and that's what matters. I mean, what better birthday celebration could there be than being reunited with the Great God who created him wonderfully? Nothing could ever beat that. :)
Meanwhile, we, the great heirs of his remarkable genes, continue to celebrate his life here on earth. He shall always be remembered.
Happy Birthday Daddy.
I miss you always.P.S. Remember
last year? I'll never forget.
